Helen (Eileen)CONNORIn loving memory of Helen (Eileen) Connor nee Kelly (Auxiliary Fire Service Rutherglen WW2). Passed away bravely, beautifully, full of love, in her 93rd year and in the loving arms of her daughter Dorothy on 19 April 2010. Deeply beloved wife of the late John Patrick (Jack) Connor (17th Indian Div, 14th Army, 'the Forgotten Army', Burma WW2). Precious mum of Dorothy Ellen and the late John Douglas. The daffodils were early that Spring. I know Daddy will have met you in your usual place at the top of Castle Street and Main Street and you were all reunited and then to the rose garden. You have your "No 1 Son" with you now. "I am waiting for you, For an interval, Just around the corner, Somewhere very near, All is well" Canon Henry Scott Holland Until we meet again. Love always your "One in a Million " daughter Dorothy xx

All Is Well

If I should go before the rest of you
Break not a flower nor inscribe a stone
Nor when I'm gone, speak in a Sunday voice
But be the usual selves that I have known
Weep if you must, parting is hell
But life goes on
So sing as well
Death is nothing at all
I have just slipped away
Into the next room
I am I
And you are you
Whatever we were to each other
That we still are
Call me by my old familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way
You always used
Put no difference into your tone
Wear no forced air of sorrow or solemnity
Laugh as we always laughed
At the little jokes we enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
Let me name be ever the household word
That it always was
Let it be spoken without effect
Without the trace of a shadow on it
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is absolutely unbroken continuity
Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you
For an interval
Just around the corner
Somewhere very near
All is well."

For Eileen, My Mum

Mum, those were our Golden Years
We shared the heartache,
We shared the tears
We shared the laughter
And the good times too
Trips to the theatre,
The pictures, the zoo
We bopped till we dropped
Round the livingroom
Our microphone the handle
Of an old kitchen broom
Then we settled into a comfy pair
Me running round
You tucked up in your chair
I knew some day we'd have to part
To lose you then
Would break my heart
But I'd try hard not to be too sad
And think instead
Of all the good times we had
Our singalongs to our favourite songs
The stories you told
Of days of old
I remember you
With love and pride
You'll always be
Right by my side
You'll be with me
Every step of the way
I loved you then
As I love you today

Night , night , love and fishes. Love you lots and lots dots and spots. Dottyxx
